Sharp was born at home in Rochester (New York) and was a fervent student of music. At the Hochstein School of Music, she took classes in cello, clarinet as well as piano. Sharp's enthusiasm for performing at the age of 14 was what led her to the Boston Conservatory where she was awarded an award. Cum Laude, where she was awarded the B.F.A. Sharp's first focus was the stage. She was part of The Broadway National Tour of Carousel. Sharp's theatrical performances include Abyssinia as well as Aida.
