Simone Biles
Simone Biles was an American gymnast born on the 14th of March 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. She is considered by many to be among the top gymnasts. Biles, along with her siblings Adria and Ronald Biles were taken in as infants by their grandparents from Houston. Simone was interested in the sport of gymnastics as a young girl during a day-care field trip at Bannon's Gymnastix and stayed there for 11 years, under the guidance of her coach Aimee Boorman. Biles earned a silver in vault in 2010 and also a bronze medal at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. She then moved up to competitions at the elite level in 2011. Within two years, she won the discipline. Biles stood out by her consistent performance, her exuberant attitude and the level of effort she introduced in each event--vault bars that were uneven, balance beam and ground exercise.
